The Sony PlayStation 4 is a console from the eighth generation of video game consoles. The console was launched in North America on November 15th, 2013 followed by Europe (November 29th, 2013) and Japan (February 22, 2014). Three major models were released in it's lifespan: the "fat", "slim", and "pro"; the latter of which is capable of checkerboard rendered 4K.

The PS4 Developer Wiki is a great supplemental development-focused resource to this wiki.
