The Atari 7800 is a fairly easy console to work on and does not require special tools. The case is held together with just five Phillips head screws and the motherboard simply sits inside the case without being secured by screws or other hardware. A set of needlenose pliers or a slotted flathead screwdriver is recommended for untwisting the tabs holding the RF shielding together.
