The Sony KV-8AD10 and KV-8AD20 are 9" CRTs manufactured by Sony and sold in North America during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The same design was also sold in Japan as the KV-9AD1. All are well-rounded sets featuring composite video input, an infrared remote receiver and the ability to run off either AC voltage from a wall outlet or 12V DC for use in a vehicle. The sets are largely identical in appearance and functionality, but the 8AD20 has a 5-pin DIN connector on the left-hand side for connecting a wired remote control. The 8AD10 was available in either black or white, with the 8AD20 being only available in black and the 9AD1 in pink, white or black.

All of these sets use the same A20JKU10X picture tube as some PVMs, including the PVM-8040 and PVM-9L2, among others. Shinichi Sumikawa was responsible for the case design.[1]
