PC:Checking NVRAM Error

If when you attempt to boot your PC, you receive a "Checking NVRAM..." message and it never proceeds, you likely have exceeded the BIOS chip's maximum threshold for writes (10,000), so it is unable to write its Flash BIOS to boot. This is a common issue that is solvable by replacing the BIOS chip.

Replacing the BIOS
- Obtain a AT29C010A chip. It should be the same size as the chip on your motherboard.
- Use a chip flasher to flash your BIOS ROM file to the chip.
- Note the orientation of the old chip on the motherboard.
- Remove the old chip. It is likely a solderless socket, so it can be removed with your fingers.
- Insert the new BIOS chip. It should now boot up properly and be usable for 100,000 more cycles.
