Manually updating a Development Kit or TestKit is a simple process even when the activation license is expired.
Required software
- The system update you wish to install as a PUP file
- ContentServer by KuromeSan
Setting up ContentServer
- Launch ContentServer.exe on a Windows system and accept the firewall access prompt
- Click Add PUP File at the top
- Select the PUP file and click Open
The update is now available to be downloaded by the console.
Installing the update
On the console do the following:
- From the Live Area (Home screen) select Settings then Start
- Select Debug Settings then Content Downloader
- Enter the URL of the ContentServer in the form of the computer's IP address and the port 1337 for example: http://192.168.0.100:1337/ then click OK
- Check the box for the PUP file then choose Download
- Once the download is complete you will get a popup in the upper right of your screen
- From the main screen of Settings select System Update
- Select Update Using Storage Media. The update should be offered .
- Click Next
- Click Yes to continue
- Read the agreement (or not) and click Accept
- Click Update. The update will now be processed and the console will restart
Done! You can now close ContentServer and enjoy!
