Xbox Content Archive Tool (XCAT) o Herramienta de archivo del contenido del XBOX en español, es una utilidad que se opera directamente en la consola Xbox para asistir en buscar contenido descargable de Xbox sin archivar y otros contenidos todavía no encontrados. A ejecutar, la applicación escanea el disco duro del Xbox para cualquier contenido que no se ha archivado y lo sube directamente a los servidores del equipo XCAT para análisis, ordenación, y archivo.

Usando XCAT
- Mueve el archivo XBE de XCAT a la consola Xbox por FTP, tarjeta de memoria, o DVD
- Asegura que la consola tiene acceso al internet
- Ejecuta el archivo XBE y sigue las instrucciones
- Dependiendo en el tamaño del almacenamiento del disco duro, podría tomar más de una hora para escanear o subir los archivos.

¿Qué contenido va a procesar XCAT?
XCAT buscará contenido unico en las siguientes rutas:
- C:\
- E:\
- F:\apps\
- F:\applications\
- F:\games\
- G:\apps\
- G:\applications\
- G:\games\
- X:\
- Y:\
- Z:\
Todos archivos unicos serán procesado y subido para clasificar y archivar.
¿Pero porqué XCAT está mirando en C:\ y los discos caché? El equipo XCAT esta buscando para más que solo contenido descargable. Tambien buscan skins de la pantalla principal de homebrew, archivos de MOTD de Xbox Live, paquetes de modificaciones de juegos perdidos y más. Mucho contenido de la comunidad se ha perdido al tiempo, pero hay un chance que se busce algún día.

What We Collect
XCAT automatically uploads unarchived files discovered during the scan as well as unique console identifiers. No other data is collected or uploaded without your direct action.

Consent and Authorization
By continuing with XCAT, you grant the XCAT development team the authority to handle and distribute the uploaded files at their discretion. It is your responsibility to ensure that these files do not contain any sensitive, private information or unlawful content.
Troubleshooting and Additional Information
XCAT may list a number of files failed to process while scanning and uploading files. After XCAT has finished its scan and uploaded of all other files, it will retry the files it originally failed to process. If all files are successfully uploaded, XCAT will display a Processing Complete and Thank You end screen with the option of pressing the A button to restart the Xbox. If XCAT fails to upload any files, it will prompt the user to attempt to upload the files again. If the files fail to upload after reattempts, exit XCAT or restart the xbox and run it again.
Where to Find Archived Xbox Live Content
- A thread on Digiex.net hosts manual installers for most the preserved Xbox Live content. Mirrors of these installers can be found on Xbox-Scene.info.
- URL downloader in XBMC4Gamers and XBMC Emustation contains most of the preserved Xbox Live content.
- Many title updates and a selection of DLC released for free on Original Xbox Live can be obtained on the Xbox Live replacement service Insignia.
- A pack of all preserved Original Xbox Live Content is being prepared for a future release on The Internet Archive
