The Neo Geo is a cartridge-based arcade system from the fourth generation of video game consoles. The console was launched to arcades as the Multi Video System (MVS) in Japan on April 26th, 1990 followed by releases in North America (August 22nd, 1990), and Europe (1991). On July 1st, 1991, the console was launched in a different form factor to the home market as the Advanced Entertainment System (AES). A version of the AES that uses CDs instead of cartridges — the Neo Geo CD — was released in 1994. A handful of exclusive titles were released straight to Neo Geo CD.
