The Sony PlayStation 2 is a console from the sixth generation of video game consoles. The console was launched in Japan on March 4th, 2000 followed by North America (October 26th, 2000) and Europe (November 24th, 2000). Three major designs (hiding a much larger number of models) were released in it's lifespan: the "fat", "slim", and a revision called by some "superslim". An alternate device, called the PSX, was a combination PS2 and digital video recorder / DVD burner with the first usage of the XrossMediaBar (XMB) interface that would later be on the PS3/PSP. There was also a TV with a poorly integrated PS2 released in 2010 — the Bravia KDL-22PX300.
