GCMM (Gamecube Memory Manager) is a tool for GameCube memory cards. It allows the user to backup and restore GameCube saves and memory card .raw files.

Installation

To install GCMM you can grab the files from the GitHub repository. Extract the .zip and enter the "wii" directory. Copy either "gcmm" or "gcmm-dark" to your apps directory on your SD card. You can also download the software from the Open Shop Channel

Main Menu

Once loaded you will see a menu with a couple of options. The important ones are:

  • Select Device
  • Backup
  • Raw Backup
  • Restore
  • Raw Restore
  • Format MC

Select Device

By default GCMM will choose your SD card to backup and locate saves. To change that press R+Start/1 to change device, this can be an USB drive or an SD Gecko in either drive.

Backup

This allows you to backup saves in .gci format on your memory card. Press Y/Minus to enter the menu, GCMM will prompt you on which memory card you want to enter. Select the memory card and choose a save or press 1/R to backup all saves. This will make a folder called "MCBACKUP" on your device and copy your saves to it.

Raw Backup

This will backup your entire memory card in .raw format. Press L+Y/B+Minus. GCMM will prompt you which memory card you want to backup. Select the memory card and it will start to backup the memory card to MCBACKUP on your device.

Restore

This will copy selected saves in MCBACKUP to your memory card. Press X/Plus and GCMM will prompt you on which memory card you want to restore to. Select a memory card and choose a save you want to restore back to your memory card.

Raw Restore

This will copy selected Raw files in MCBACKUP to a memory card. Press L+X/B+Plus and GCMM will prompt you on which memory card you want to restore to. Select a memory card and choose a Raw File you want to restore back to your memory card.

Format MC

This will format a memory card. Press R+Start/B+2 and select a memory card.
