Here's a quick installation guide for replacing the N64's stock controller stick with an aftermarket
The install is easy and pretty quick.
The Sharpshooter, while a good option, does have some downsides. The stick travel isn't as smooth, and there's a very small amount of deadzone compared to an original N64 controller.
For comparison, this is a new old stock N64 controller which has less than 5 hours of use on it.
This is a great alternative to knockoff/aftermarket N64 controllers.
