The following is a list of error codes you may encounter on your Nintendo 64 Disk Drive. This list was compiled from multiple sources.[1][2][3]
Error Code | Meaning |
---|---|
01 | General error, may be disk or disk drive. Reseat ribbon cables, check that drive is greased enough, disk may be bad or drive head may need cleaning. |
02 | Eject button may have been pushed in half way during access. |
03 | General disk drive error. |
04 | General disk error. |
05 | Clock error. Set date and time or replace battery. |
11 | General disk error. |
21-25 | General error, may be disk or disk drive. |
31-35 | General error, may be disk drive or Nintendo 64. |
41 | Error in connection between N64DD and Nintendo 64. Clean 50-pin connector on top of disk drive or on bottom of Nintendo 64. |
42 | Disk not detected. Insert disk or check if the eject button is partially depressed. |
43 | General disk drive error. |
44 | Expansion Pak not inserted. |
47 | Wrong disk has been inserted. Insert disk shown on TV screen. |
48 | Clock malfunction. Set the date and time. May require battery replacement if repeatedly occurring. |
49 | Disk may have been removed during access or eject button may have been pushed in half way. |
50 | General disk drive error. Eject button may have been pushed in half way. |
51 | Disk may have been removed during access. |
