If you set DIP 1 to ON, then turn on the console, it will boot into Test Mode. You will be presented with options which correspond to the following sections of this page. The functions of these menu options are briefly described in the service manuals.
The controls are as follows:
- Joystick: Move cursor.
- A: Select option.
- Start: Advance to the next screen.
HARDWARE TEST
Crosshatch
A grid for assistance in calibrating your television's geometry.
Color Adjustment
Color blocks for assistance in calibrating your television's color settings.
I/O Check
Allows you to test controllers and hardware buttons. Pressing a button will change the displayed digit to 1
if the button press was detected.
- SELECT, EL, LED1, and LED2 are not applicable to MV-1FZ.
Sound Test
Allows you to test right, left, and center audio.
- MV-1FZ is mono-only.
Memory Card Test

- MV-1FZ does not support memory cards.
Backup Clear
Deletes all saved data, including saves and income data by pressing A
, B
, and C
at the same time.
Calendar
Allows you to set the date and time. A

Shows the current status of each hardware DIP switch. Useful to test functionality of each DIP switch.
SETTING UP THE SOFT DIP
Soft DIP Menu
Allows you to set game-specific settings.
Cabinet Setting
Allows you to set various settings related to the physical cabinet.
- COIN RATE: Allows you to set how many credits a coin gives.
- GAME SELECT ONLY WHEN CREDITED: Whether the player is allowed to choose a game before inserting a credit. Only applicable to multi-slot motherboards.
- GAME START COMPULSION: Max time allowed between inserting a coin and starting the game.
- DEMO SOUND SETUP IN EACH GAME: Silent during attract screens????????? Overrides software DIP settings.
Soft DIP Setting
Shows game-specific settings. Different per game.
BOOK KEEPING
Data Keeping
Shows saved items??????? The system keeps data for the last 8 games played. If a new game is played, it will overwrite the oldest game.
Bookkeeping
- CABINET/COIN: Total income of the cabinet.
- CABINET/PLAY: Total plays across all games.
- SLOT#: Total plays for the title.
Cabinet / Coin
Shows breakdown of coins inserted per day or by 6 month interval.
- P2 tracking is non-functional ?????????
