Update Disabler/Blocker is a payload found on various exploit hosts, that blocks the download of firmware updates by removing every file from /update/ folder and creating two folders: PS4UPDATE.pup
and PS4UPDATE.pup.temp
to prevent files of the same name being created again.
- As a result of these placeholder folders, the real update files cannot replace them.
- Alternatively, payloads such as GoldHEN automatically blocks firmware updates.
- A kernel panic may remove these folders, so make sure you check it via FTP or PS4Xplorer afterwards.
- The payload can be manually replicated by manually making the 2 folders in /update/.
Update Enabler is a payload found on various exploit hosts, that reverts Update Disabler/Blocker by simply removing the folders.
- The payload can be manually replicated by manually removing the 2 folders in /update/.
