The Sony FDM-030 is a handheld video monitor which found a large market among CCTV installers. As the name implies, however, it was primarily designed for consumer use, being also available in bundle with a camera.

As prominently advertised, it supports both EIA/NTSC (480i/60) and CCIR (576i/50) video modes.

It is powered with 6 V, using either 4 AA batteries or a 5.5/2.1 mm barrel jack (positive ground).

Like most classic Watchmen, it uses a sideways tube, the JM03 (which unlike the JM02 and JM04 has the high voltage connected via a regular base pin instead of the customary "ultor" anode connector). On the outside it mostly resembles the CRT:FD-10, although the internals are significantly different.

External controls: Power, volume, focus (unmarked, on bottom).
