The Turbo EverDrive is a flash cart that allows you to play HuCard games on your TurboGrafx-16, PC Engine, or Duo system. It also allows booting HuCard games from any region and can work on any region console. Note that this is a different product than the Turbo EverDrive PRO which offers CD playback through the HuCard port.

You might also consider installing the alternative Turbo EverDrive OS, TG16:TEOS, which adds new features and bug fixes.

Setup

  1. Format a 32GB or smaller micro SD card as FAT32.
  2. Download and extract the latest firmware.
  3. Copy the TBED folder to the root of the SD card.
  4. Copy any desired games to the root of the SD card. Note that the Turbo EverDrive supports folders, so you can place games in separate folders such as Games, Translations, and Homebrew.
  5. Safely eject the SD card and insert it into the Turbo EverDrive.
  6. On the Turbo EverDrive cartridge itself, look for a physical switch. Slide it to the "PCE" position if your system is a PC Engine or slide it to the "TG-16" position if it's a TurboGrafx-16.
  7. Insert the Turbo EverDrive into your console and turn it on. It should boot to a white screen followed by the EverDrive menu.

Controls

  • I: Go back to previous menu.
  • II: Select highlighted item.
  • Run: Start previously selected game.
  • Select: Shows help and system information page. Press again to enter Options.
  • Reset: There is a physical button on the cartridge itself that will take you back to the EverDrive menu.

Options

By pressing Select twice, the sole configurable option appears: Swap II/I buttons. Press I or II to change the option and press Run to save it.
