The Vita uses a proprietary connector for it's power cable. If you ever lose the original charger or break this port, you have the option to replace it with a USB-C port. This page was created mostly from this guide by /u/purekimwater.
Installation
PCH-1000
The 1000 models have drop-in USB-C replacement boards, such as the ones available from OxyllMods. Simply desolder the old power jack, and solder in the new one. You may need to dremel the shell plastic a bit to fit the USB-C port.

PCH-2000
You can purchase a generic USB-C breakout board such as this one, this one, or this one. Ensure that you purchase one with two resistors on the board.
- Disassemble your console and desolder the old power jack.
- Solder wires to the power jack pads and the USB-C PCB. //// Diagrams here
- Use 3M double sided foam tape to mount the port in place.
