The NinjaMod is a commercial IPL replacement based on tmbinc's open-source design. The chip has a built-in 16Mbit (2MB) flash for two BIOS banks, one for NinjaShell and the other to be programmed by the user with any BIOS of their preference.
Controversy
The BIOS that came pre-flashed with the NinjaMod was using a modified release of GCOS version 1.4, with an entirely different backdrop applied and renamed to "NinjaShell". It started when GCOS version 1.4 was made closed-source by the author; therefore, selling modified versions violates the GPL licence.
