Kernel Clock is a payload found on exploit hosts that changes the internal clock of the PS4 to Sony's epoch time, around January 1st 2000.

  • As a result of loading this payload, the internal clock issue is fixed (CBOMB).
  • Can reactivate expired PS Plus licenses, making games able to be launched again.
  • Can reactivate invalidated game or app licenses, making them able to be launched again.
  • Somewhere between 5.05 and 6.72 the function used changed, this payload will ONLY zero out the clock and will not reset it. This will cause the errors with trophy times, licenses etc. This would be as if you unplugged the CMOS battery.
  • While this payload was "ported" to higher firmwares than 5.05, it will not do anything other than cause issues.
