I read things about both the 5X-Pro and the 2X-M doing something called "oversampling" in order to work around chroma subsampling while digitizing and processing the analog signals. I think it would be useful if someone knowledgeable about electronics and ADC was to explain what it means and why it matter for both aforementioned scalers. On paper, everyone want the best video output, but very little people know the difference between "ideal" and "optimal". ๐

This is a tricky issue to explain, I'll eventually go over the whole "Chroma Subsampling" and how the Tink is engineered to compensate for it eventually when I have all the facts and a better working knowledge. | This is a tricky issue to explain, I'll eventually go over the whole "Chroma Subsampling" and how the Tink is engineered to compensate for it eventually when I have all the facts and a better working knowledge. - Old Kid | ||

Explaining Oversampling
I read things about both the 5X-Pro and the 2X-M doing something called "oversampling" in order to work around chroma subsampling while digitizing and processing the analog signals. I think it would be useful if someone knowledgeable about electronics and ADC was to explain what it means and why it matter for both aforementioned scalers. On paper, everyone want the best video output, but very little people know the difference between "ideal" and "optimal". ๐ -Bowi (talk) 19:00, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
This is a tricky issue to explain, I'll eventually go over the whole "Chroma Subsampling" and how the Tink is engineered to compensate for it eventually when I have all the facts and a better working knowledge. - Old Kid

Suggest this page might be better hosted at https://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=Classic_Console_Upscaler_wiki.
Other RetroTINK documentation is there. Other classic scaler documentation is there.
There has been suggestions that the wikis may merge but for now it would be more sensible there.
