Below is a list of PS1 games that support widescreen modes.

Two types of widescreen modes are employed:

  • Anamorphic: The 16:9 image is squished into a 4:3 frame. The TV then can stretch the image to fill the full 16:9 screen. Generally, this causes 2D content to appear stretched horizontally.
  • Letterbox: The 16:9 image is displayed inside of the 4:3 frame, adding a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen. You can then zoom in your TV to fill the screen. This results in worse quality than anamorphic.

The "cropped" notation indicates that part of the image is cut off, which can be present in either widescreen mode.

Yarudora Series Vol 1: Double Cast Other No Normal mode puts text below image. Wide 1 puts shadowbox on image for the text and is meant to be zoomed in. Wide 2 puts green shadowbox over some of the bottom of the screen which gets cut off if zoomed in.
Yarudora Series Vol. 2: Kisetsu o Dakishimete Other No Normal mode puts text below image. Wide 1 puts shadowbox on image for the text and is meant to be zoomed in. Wide 2 puts green shadowbox over some of the bottom of the screen which gets cut off if zoomed in.
Yarudora Series Vol. 3: Sampaguita Other No Normal mode puts text below image. Wide 1 puts shadowbox on image for the text and is meant to be zoomed in. Wide 2 puts green shadowbox over some of the bottom of the screen which gets cut off if zoomed in.

Some websites report the following games have widescreen modes, but they do not:
