The BVM-A14 is part of the BVM-A series - Sony's top of the line series. The F5 models are handy due to the fact that they do not require an external controller and instead provide buttons along the side of the unit to navigate the on-screen display. They also provide buttons for manual control over a handful of functions, including analog knobs for brightness, contrast, chroma, and phase.
The BVM-A series monitors require a rather rare input board for RGB/YPbPr inputs: the CRT:BKM-68X. It is recommended to instead get Martin Hejnfelt's BKM-68X clone (source files) as it is much more stable and has less sync issues.
