Xbox:XCAT
Xbox Content Archive Tool (XCAT) is a utility that runs directly on an Xbox console to assist in finding unarchived DLC and other lost content. When run the application will scan the Xbox hard drive for any content that has yet to be archived and upload it directly to the servers of the XCAT Team for later analysis, sorting, and archival.
Using XCAT
- Transfer the XCAT XBE file to the console via FTP, memory card, or DVD
- Ensure the console has internet access
- Run the XBE and follow the prompts
- Depending on the amount of data stored on the hard disk it may take an hour or more to scan and perform any uploads
Troubleshooting and Additional Information
XCAT may list a number of files failed to process while scanning and uploading files. After XCAT has finished it's scan and upload of all other files it will retry the files it originally failed to process. If all files are successfully uploaded XCAT will display a Processing Complete and Thank You end screen with the option of pressing the A button to restart the Xbox. If XCAT fails to upload any files it will prompt the user to press A to attempt to upload the files again. If the files fail to upload after reattempts, exit XCAT or restart the xbox and run it again.
