The Sony KV-19TS20 is a 19" consumer CRT first introduced in 1989. It was one of Sony's higher-end consumer sets of the time and included features such as an MTS (Multichannel Television Sound) decoder, a composite video input with stereo sound and stereo audio output for connection to a stereo system.
Servicing Notes
Unlike later Trinitrons, the KV-19TS20 does not have a service menu and all adjustments must be performed on the main board.
Faulty Solder Joints on RF Module
Like a number of Trinitron sets from the late 1980s and early 1990s, the KV-19TS20 can develop dry solder joints inside its RF module, which can cause the RF input to become intermittent or not function at all. This can be remedied by desoldering the RF module from the main board and reflowing as many solder joints as possible, giving special attention to the solder joints connecting the metal casing to the ground points on the PCB.
