PKGj is a homebrew application for PlayStation Vita, released initially on October 23, 2017 by cuevavirus. It is a fork of pkgi with several improvements and serves as a downloader for .pkg files.
Installation
You would install PKGj like you would any other PSVita homebrew app. It can also be downloaded through VitaDeploy or VitaDB.
- Download the latest build of PKGj file from the above link.
- Using VitaShell, transfer the VPK to ux0 with USB or FTP.
- Navigate to where the VPK is located and press X while hovering over the VPK to install it.
Usage
In order to download content on PKGj, you need to install the plugin NoNpDrm. If you are on a lower firmware than your content supports, you need to install 0syscall6. |
During the download process of PSP or PS1 content, you cannot press the power button on your console to put it to sleep; You have to keep PKGj open at all times. In other words, that content cannot be downloaded in the background unless you install NoPspEmuDrm. |
Using PKGj, you can download 5 main types of content for the PlayStation Vita.
- Games
- Themes
- Demos
- DLC
- PSMobile Games (Requires NoPsmDrm for background downloads and playback)
Press the triangle button to open the menu which will appear at the right hand side of the screen. You can sort content by these 5 selections.
You can also download:
- PSP games
- PS1 games
- PSP DLC
If you don't have NoPspEmuDRM installed, you need to use an eCFW to run this content. If this plugin is installed, this content can be downloaded in the background and run in the LiveArea like normal PS Store downloads. This plugin will also enable PocketStation functionality.
