Required Items

  • Make sure you have Custom Firmware (CFW) installed.
  • Have the latest GodMode9 installed.
  • The 3DS or DS Cartridge or installed title you want to dump.

Dumping a 3DS Cartridge for use on your 3DS

  1. Insert the 3DS Cartridge into your 3DS.
  2. Hold (Start) and power on your 3DS. GodMode9 will launch.
  3. Navigate to [C:].
  4. Choose the TitleID.trim.3ds.
  5. Choose "NCSD image options...".
  6. Choose Build CIA from file.

Dumping a 3DS Cartridge for an Emulator

  1. Insert the 3DS Cartridge into your 3DS.
  2. Hold (Start) and power on your 3DS. GodMode9 will launch.
  3. Navigate to [C:].
  4. Choose the TitleID.trim.3ds.
  5. Choose "NCSD image options...".
  6. Decrypt file (0:/gm9/out).
  7. Turn off the 3DS.
  8. Remove the SD Card and insert it into a PC.
  9. Navigate to /gm9/out on the SD card.
  10. Copy or Move the TitleID.trim.3ds to somewhere on your PC.
  11. Now you have a backup you can play on a 3DS Emulator on your PC.

Dumping an Installed Title

  1. Hold (Start) and power on your 3DS. GodMode9 will launch.
  2. Navigate to [A:] SYSNAND SD.
  3. Hold (R) and press (A).
  4. Press (A) on Open title manager
  5. Press (A) on the title you want to dump.
  6. Press (A) on Manage title
  7. Navigate to Build CIA (standard) and press (A) to start dumping.
  8. Wait until it has finished and then press (A) to continue.
  9. The dumped title will now be in /gm9/out on the SD card.

Dumping a DS Cartridge for an Emulator

  1. Insert the DS Cartridge into your 3DS.
  2. Hold (Start) and power on your 3DS. GodMode9 will launch.
  3. Navigate to [C:].
  4. Choose the TitleID.nds.
  5. Copy to 0:/gm9/out.
  6. Turn off the 3DS.
  7. Remove the SD card and insert it into a PC.
  8. Navigate to /gm9/out on the SD card.
  9. Copy or Move the TitleID.nds to somewhere on your PC.
  10. Now you have a backup you can play on a DS Emulator on your PC.
