When you press the PS button to open the multitasking menu, there are advertisements displayed at the bottom of the screen. With a simple modification, you can disable those advertisements. This process was found by /u/DarkBlack711 on reddit.
Disabling Advertisements
- Enable HENKaku.
- Open molecularShell/VitaShell and navigate to
ur0:shell/
. Delete thewhats_new
folder and restart your console. - Once you are back at the home screen, press the PS button a couple of times until it downloads and displays the advertisements once again.
- Navigate to
ur0:shell/whats_new/np/
with molecularShell/VitaShell and inside that folder you will seewhatsnew.xml
. Delete it and create a folder namedwhatsnew.xml
. - Restart your console and you can now use the multitasking menu without advertisements.
If you rebuild your database in recovery mode, you will need to repeat the process. |
