While games are patched automatically when backing them up, some games require an Auto Correct List (ACL). For instance, the Australian version of *Rugby League* needs a patch (48450001.acl) to be able to be run from the hard drive and work on an NTSC Xbox. A small amount of patches are already included by default with DVD2Xbox, but if you find a game where you need a specific patch, [[Xbox:FTP|FTP]] the new ACL to your DVD2Xbox installation directory (ex. E:\Apps\DVD2Xbox\acl\).

DVD2Xbox is an application which rips any DVD/CD to your hard drive. It supports UDF/ISO9660/CDDA discs, including Xbox games. It will also patch your Xbox game backups automatically to allow them to be played from your hard drive and avoid the "filename too long" issues with the Xbox filesystem by using automatic patches or patches you supply.

Instructions for ripping games for Redump

It's highly recommended to use DVD2Xbox over other game ripping software, as it applies patches needed to run some games correctly!

Ripping Games

  1. Launch DVD2Xbox, and insert your game disc. Wait for it to recognize your game, then press A to select "Copy DVD/CD to Harddisk".
  2. Choose the directory you would like the game to be stored in (ex. F:\games\), and press A. If you want the rip to be an ISO, press Y to change it to "ISO Ripper" mode.
  3. Press Start to begin the backup.

Patching Games

While games are patched automatically when backing them up, some games require an Auto Correct List (ACL). For instance, the Australian version of *Rugby League* needs a patch (48450001.acl) to be able to be run from the hard drive and work on an NTSC Xbox. A small amount of patches are already included by default with DVD2Xbox, but if you find a game where you need a specific patch, FTP the new ACL to your DVD2Xbox installation directory (ex. E:\Apps\DVD2Xbox\acl\).

Deleting Extra Files

Many games have extra files that can be deleted. You can find a list of files you can delete for each game on this website, as well as the games you cannot delete files from. This will allow you to save some hard drive space if you are needing it.

Troubleshooting

If you recently updated DVD2Xbox or messed with skins, DVD2Xbox may not launch properly. You can fix this by deleting the "DVD2Xbox" game save with the game save manager. You may also need to delete the following folders using a file manager, then reboot: E:\TDATA\0facfac0\ and E:\UDATA\0facfac0.
