The PAC-N10 (PAC-N1 in the Japanese market) is a control pack module designed for use with the Pioneer Laseractive CLD-A100 Laserdisc Player. It contains the hardware for the Turbografx 16/PC Engine, Super CDROM2, as well as additional hardware allowing for the playback of LDROM2 software specially designed for the LaserActive. Due to the nature of the surface mount electrolytic capacitors used on these modules, ALL PAC-N10 and N1 modules should have capacitors replaced as soon as possible to avoid irreparable damage.

Pink Screen at Boot up

Most likely the huC6280 CPU has been damaged and should be replaced. The only way to acquire one is by taking from another PC Engine/TG16 unit.

Differences between N1 and N10

The PAC-N1 and PAC-N10 use the exact same main PCB design, only differing in placement of two resistor arrays and a single jumper.

Region Jumper for HuC6280

J901 connects HuC6280 pin 29 to ground. The PAC-N10 has this jumper populated while the PAC-N1 does not.

RA902 and RA801

RA801 connects D0-D3 to the corresponding pins of the HuCard slot while RA902 connects D4-D7 instead. PAC-N10 has RA902 populated while N1 has RA801. These can be swapped in conjunction with RA802/901 to change the region of the PAC.

RA901 and RA802

RA802 connects D4-D7 to the HuCard slot while RA901 connects D0-D3 instead. PAC-N10 has RA901 populated while N1 has RA802. These can be swapped in conjunction with RA801/902 to change the region of the PAC.
