Your IDPS is the ID that PSN uses to uniquely identify your console. You may want to back up your IDPS in case you ever swap it for another one or want to use it on another console. Your ACT.DAT file is your activation data tied to your account.

Requirements

  • A FAT32 formatted USB device
  • PS3xploit HAN installed on your PS3
  • A throwaway PSN account made specifically for doing HAN-related things

Dumping your IDPS and ACT.DAT

  1. Log onto your account created for HAN and sign into your throwaway PSN account.
  2. Navigate to the PSN column and select Account Management.
  3. Scroll down and select System Activation > PS3 System > Game. After it has been activated successfully, power off your system.
  4. Turn on your system and sign back into your HAN account.
  5. Plug your FAT32 formatted USB device into the right-most USB port (the one closest to the disc drive).
  6. Enable HAN. This is step 14 from the HAN installation tutorial.
  7. Navigate to the Network tab and go into the internet browser. Press START and enter the URL "ps3xploit.com", without the quotes, followed by pressing START again.
  8. Hover over "v3 HAN Tools" and click on "ACT/IDPS dumper" in the sub-menu.
  9. Set the dumper as your homepage by pressing Triangle followed by Tools > Home page > Use current. When done, close the browser.
  10. Re-open the browser and click on "Initialize ACT/IDPS Dumper". After it has initialized, select "Dump ACT.DAT & IDPS". If it didn't initialize successfully, redo the step ensuring you have the homepage set on the dumper.
