TG16:Killer Standoff (SuperGrafx)

The SuperGrafx has a design flaw that causes extra pressure to be put on the PCB which eventually can cause up to 72 traces to be severed. Picture and guide credit to SmokeMonster and MobiusStripTech on this Twitter thread.

Fixing the Issue

  1. Disassemble the console and locate the problematic stand-off:

  2. Use any cutting tool to trim some the stand-off down. It is debated on whether the PCB should still make contact with the stand-off for support, or to just cut it low enough for the PCB to not make contact.
