- For signed XBEs set to boot from DVD+R, you must have a burner set to burn discs with layertype set to "read-only" (instead of "recordable") and software to set the booktype to "DVD-ROM". Drives come from the factory with the layertype set, and it may be a manufacturing mistake that drives were sold with it set to read-only. Drives capable of burning Xbox / Xbox 360 games seem to have the correct layertype set. A burned disc's layertype can be checked with the File:DVDLayerTypeChecker.zip. Burners set the layertype bits at the start of a burn.
