XeniumOS is the BIOS that comes with Xenium chips and runs on OpenXenium. It can also be run standalone on a HDD as an application, though it is primarily a recovery menu in which you can configure virtual BIOS banks (for modchips), edit your hard drive configuration, and change your EEPROM settings. Launch Menu

The launch menu is where you can configure up to 8 virtual banks for loading different BIOSes or booting from your Xbox’s TSOP chip.

Add A New Item

TSOP

This option will setup a bank to boot from the console’s TSOP chip.

Flash

This option will allow you to setup bank(s) to load from the chip’s flash storage. You are able to select any 256k, 512k, or 1MB bioses any of the following combinations.

  • 1 x 1Mb

  • 2 x 512k

  • 2 x 256k & 1 x 512k

  • 4 x 256k

    It will pull up the file manager and allow you to choose to load the BIOS onto the chip’s flash storage from HDD, USB drive (H:), or a PC if you have configured Samba. You can also configure a custom name and chip LED for each bank. You can also select the "Set Default Item" button to choose a bank to automatically boot into when you power on the Xbox.

Disk Tools

  • Lock/Unlock Hard Drive: Allows you to lock or unlock your HDD.
  • Drive Upgrade Wizard: Clone your primary HDD to a new HDD plugged into the DVD-ROM IDE cable slot. Set the new HDD jumper to Slave before copying, and return it to Master or Cable Select when finished.
  • Copy Partition: Copy a single partition from your primary HDD to a HDD plugged into the DVD-ROM IDE cable slot. Supports partitions C, E, F, X, Y and Z. Set the new HDD jumper to Slave before copying, and return it to Master or Cable Select when finished.
  • Format Partition: Individually format your C, E, F, X, Y or Z partition on your primary HDD.

EEprom Tools

  • Xbox Version: Lists an estimate of what revision motherboard you have
  • Video Standard: Shows the current video display region setting (NTSC or PAL). Press A on this to change regions.
  • DVD Region: Shows the current DVD region setting. Press A on this to change regions.
  • Game Region: Shows the current Xbox game region setting. Press A on this to change regions.
  • Backup EEprom: Creates a backup of your EEPROM chip and stores it on the chip.
  • Restore EEprom: Restores your backup of your EEPROM chip. If you did not previously make one, it will load a default configuration.

Settings

  • Xenium Settings: Allows you to turn on/off Instant Boot; the ability for the console to boot into your default bios configured in the Launch Menu when the Power button is pressed. Press Eject to boot into XeniumOS.
  • Network Settings: Allows you to enable DHCP or a Static IP address.
  • FTP Settings: Allows you to enable/disable the XeniumOS FTP server, as well as set a username and password.
  • Telnet Settings: Allows you to enable/disable the XeniumOS Telnet server, as well as set a username and password.
  • SMB Settings: Allows you to set up Samba on your Xbox to access your console’s hard drive partitions over the network.

Reboot

Reboots your console.

Recovery

This menu automatically scans E: and the DVD drive for a recovery.bin. If found, it will overwrite XeniumOS with the contents of recovery.bin.

Power Off

Turns off your console.

Installers Menu

The installers menu is a hidden menu that can be accessed by holding the Left Thumbstick button and selecting the Settings Menu option with the A button. From here, you can save your current virtual bank configuration to a file (by browsing to where you want to save it and pressing Y) or installing a virtual bank configuration file.
