The PAC-S10 (PAC-S1 in the Japanese market) is a control pack module designed for use with the Pioneer Laseractive CLD-A100 Laserdisc Player. It contains the hardware for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, based on the VA0-1.8 model 2 variant, Sega/Mega CD, as well as additional hardware allowing for the playback of Mega LD software specially designed for the LaserActive. The PAC-S10 also supports playing Sega Master System games via a Sega Genesis flash cart and — with the help of an adapter or mod — Sega 32X games are also supported. Due to the nature of the surface mount electrolytic capacitors used on these modules, ALL PAC-S10 and S1 modules should have capacitors replaced as soon as possible to avoid irreparable damage.
