Wii:Riiconnect24 and Wiimmfi

A brief Introduction

The Wii’s online services have been shut down for years at this point the community has stepped in and revived WiiConnect24 and Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. RIIConnect24 and Wiimmfi bring the online functionality so you can still play and get in touch with your friends.

Wiimmfi Wiimmfi the replacement of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection has been online from 05/10/2014 and steadily improving with supporting new games and making the connecting process easier. Wiimmfi supports the most popular games of the Wii and DS era like: Mario Kart WII; Mario Kart DS; Super Smash Bros Brawl; Animal Crossing: City Folk and Metroid Prime Hunters. Wiimmfi is very active and there is a lot of dedicated fans of the games playing every day. They even have a discord server which you can check.

RIIConnect24 RiiConnect24 brings everything you remember form your childhood like the scorching hot WII the everybody votes channel the Check Mii Out channel and even the News and Weather channels. The process of reviving WiiConnect is very easy, and you’ll be able to see Peter Griffin on the Check Mii Out channel. They also have a Discord Server which you can also check out.

Requirements for setup

These are the things you’ll need to do to make RiiConnect24 and Wiimmfi to work on your console: A softmodded Nintendo Wii with Wii mod lite An Sd card (with the appropriate homebrew files)

RiiConnect24

1. Go to the RiiConnect24 site

2. Download the RiiConnect24 Patcher, open it as an Administrator (if you are on Windows)

3. On the first prompt choose the 1-st option.

4. You need to choose what device you are patching.

5. Choose the first option.

6. You need to choose recommended. (this will include 7 files you need to install, but more on this later)

7. Select the region of your console. Important! If you select the wrong region the files are not going to work.

8. Select continue.

9. You need to connect your SD Card to your computer.

10. Select the first option and wait for a little bit. (The patcher is downloading the files for the mod to work)

11. Return to the menu and close the program. (Make sure that the files are downloaded)

12. Put the files in the Wads folder on your SD Card.

13. Put your SD Card in your Wii and start the console.

14. You need to launch Wii mod lite and install the Files you put in your Wads folder. Wait for the install to finish.

15. After all this kafuffle is done you need to patch the Wii Mail function which is done through the Wii mail Patcher. Go and launch it through the Homebrew channel, it will automatically do its work.

16. you need to change the default DNS in the internet settings to 167.86.108.126 for the primary one and 1.1.1.1 as the secondary one.

17. Final step. You need to change the settings for WiiConnect24. These settings are optional.
