The long-discontinued Neoflash SMS2 and [https://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=440 SMS4] products, as well as a [https://gbatemp.net/threads/neoflash-nds-sms-diy-rom-dumping-mod.162312/ modified original SMS] can be used to dump DS games without a DS.
 
# Download and place the GodMode9.firm file from the downloaded archive to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD Card, then copy the gm9 folder from the archive and place it on the root of your SD card
Other DS card readers for the PC, such as the 3DS PowerSaves and the R4i Save Dongle, are technically capable of dumping ROMs but they have yet to be worked on.
# Ensure your 3DS is completely powered off, then press and hold START while powering on your device. This will do two things, depending on how many .firm files you have 2a. If you boot straight into GodMode9, continue following the guide 2b. If you boot to the Luma 3DS chainloader, use the D-Pad to move the selection to GodeMode9 and press A to boot the payload. After that, continue following the guide.

Nintendo DS/Lite

Over the network

  1. Configure your DS to connect to the same network as a device with a FTP client.
  2. Download and run WoodDumper. (Any method is viable, from flashcard to Wii.)
  3. If needed, swap to the game to be dumped.
  4. Press A to mount the game card and start the server.
  5. Connect to it and download the ROM and/or save as needed.

With a Slot-2 flashcard

  1. Download WoodDumper Slot-2.
  2. DLDI patch and run it.

With a Slot-1 flashcard and Slot-2 RAM
