Backing up save data can be very useful as Nand restores from backups will overwrite your saves. SaveGame Manager GX is one of the simplest ways to back up save data on the Wii.
Installation
Requirements
- An SD card
- SaveGame Manager GX
- Open the .zip file and extract the apps folder to the root of your SD card.
- Put the SD card in your Wii and open the Homebrew Channel.
- Open SaveGame Manager GX.
Backing Up Saves
Once you are in SaveGame Manager GX you should:
- Select the leftmost button on the bar at the top of the screen.
- Select "wii".
- Choose a save you want to backup.
- Press "Extract" and then "Default".
- Confirm by pressing "OK".
That's it! You have just extracted a save from your Wii. Just copy the files from "sd:/savegames" to wherever you want on your pc.
