If you want to sell a console and remove any of your previous data or clear a previously modded console's files to start fresh, you can follow one of the methods on this page on how to do so.
Method 1: Settings Application
- Open the settings application.
- Scroll down until you see the
Formatsection, and then selectRestore this system - Select
Restore - When prompted, select
Yesto confirm three times. - Select
Formatand selectYes - Once formatted, click
OKto reboot. - Complete the first time setup and update the firmware. If you want to install CFW on the console, you can continue to this page.
Method 2: Safe Mode
- If the system is currently on, hold the power button for about three seconds to trigger the shutdown screen, and select
Power Off - Press and hold
