The disc drive has a 1 MiB read ahead cache, that's not impacted by streaming audio being enabled. So e.g. Metroid Prime 1 loads faster. On the GameCube it was 512 KiB and streaming audio subtracted from it.<ref>according to Extrems</ref>

Some games have patches applied by the console at runtime to make them work on the Wii.[1][2]

The disc drive has a 1 MiB read ahead cache, that's not impacted by streaming audio being enabled. So e.g. Metroid Prime 1 loads faster. On the GameCube it was 512 KiB and streaming audio subtracted from it.[3]
