Manually updating a Development Kit or TestKit is a simple process even when the activation license is expired.

Required software

  1. The system update you wish to install as a PUP file
  2. ContentServer by KuromeSan

Setting up ContentServer

  1. Launch ContentServer.exe on a Windows system and accept the firewall access prompt
  2. Click Add PUP File at the top
  3. Select the PUP file and click Open

The update is now available to be downloaded by the console.

Installing the update

On the console do the following:

  1. From the Live Area (Home screen) select Settings then Start
  2. Select Debug Settings then Content Downloader
  3. Enter the URL of the ContentServer in the form of the computer's IP address and the port 1337 for example: http://192.168.0.100:1337/ then click OK
  4. Check the box for the PUP file then choose Download
  5. Once the download is complete you will get a popup in the upper right of your screen
  6. From the main screen of Settings select System Update
  7. Select Update Using Storage Media. The update should be offered

  8. Click Next
  9. Click Yes to continue
  10. 
Read the agreement (or not) and click Accept
  11. Click Update. The update will now be processed and the console will restart

Done! You can now close ContentServer and enjoy!
