There are a few ways to update your Vita / PSTV.

If you have non-retail hardware, go to Vita:Manually Updating a Development Kit.

Over Wi-Fi

To perform an update using Wi-Fi, select Settings > System Update > Update Using Wi-Fi. Your Vita system automatically checks over the internet whether you have the latest version of the system software. If there is an update file for a later version, it is downloaded to the system. Follow the screens to complete the update.

Manually updating to 3.60

If your Vita happens to have a firmware older than 3.60 and want to use the traditional Henkaku exploit, you can set the primary DNS to 212.47.229.76 in the system settings. Now if you try to do a firmware update over the internet, it should prompt you with 3.60 (変革 Compatible)

Using PS3

Connect your PS Vita system to the PS3 system using a USB cable. All open applications must be closed, and User must be selected. On your Vita system, select Settings > Start > System Update > Update by Connecting to a PS3 system. Your PS Vita system automatically checks over the Internet whether you have the latest version of the system software. If there is an update file for a later version, it is downloaded to the system. Follow the screens to complete the update.

Using PC

  5. In the Other Tab, enable "Offline Mode" and "Ignore Local File Psp2-Updatelist.xml".
  6. Set "User Version Update" to Custom, then set the "Custom PS Vita Version" field to the proper value (3.75 = 03.735.000).
  7. Connect your Vita to your computer with your Vita charging cable.
  8. Close out of Qcma, right-click the qcma tile in the hidden icons menu, and press "refresh Database".
