WiiU:Homebrew App Store (HBAS)

The Wii U HomeBrew App Store is a homebrew application developed for Wii U by VGMoose. It is a homebrew application that allows you to install homebrew to whatever storage device it is being run on via ForTheUsers. The latest version of it is currently 2.2, it can be downloaded here.

Here's what ya need:

• A hacked Wii U, obviously
• A compatible SD Card (it is not recommended to use Micro-SD-to-Regular-SD adapters)
• A computer with an SD Card slot or/and a USB storage port
• An internet connection

and

• Optionally, a compatible USB storage device.

Let's get started.

Step #1: Download the HBAS. If you would like, save it to the storage device you are using for your Wii U.

Step #2: Extract the file that you previously downloaded. You should see a folder named "wiiu". If you already have this folder on your storage device, you don't need to copy it. Click the folder named "wiiu" so that you see a folder named "apps". Click this folder if you already have it on your storage device. Then, you should see a folder named "appstore". This is the folder with the app (appstore.rpx), its meta (meta.xml) and its icon. Copy the folder "appstore" to the /wiiu/apps folder path on your storage device.

Step #3: There is no step 3; you're done.

Notes

Upon first boot of the HBAS, you may seem it looks dull. Well, if you would like to be 𝓯𝓪𝓷𝓬𝔂 then you can customize your experience via modifying files in the /wiiu/apps/appstore/resources folder on your storage device; the folder is automatically created upon first boot of HBAS.

Currently, 3 files are customisable:

• Modify /wiiu/apps/appstore/resources/splash.png on your storage device to modify your splash screen.
• Modify /wiiu/apps/appstore/resources/screampics.mp3 on your storage device to modify your background music.

It is important that the splash screen and music are in PNG and MP3 format respectively.

• Find a repo file to place in /wiiu/apps/appstore/repository.txt on your storage device to modify your app repo. ^{(who in their right mind uses that?)}
