Playing patched ROMs requires your PSP to have custom firmware installed.
Items needed
- Game in .iso format (Creating Game Backups).
- Patch file (xdelta format).
- Patching software.
- Archive extraction software of your choice.
- PSP with custom firmware installed (Custom Firmware Installation).
Procedure
- Download and extract your game patch file (if necessary). The file should be in xdelta format.
- Download and extract xdelta UI to somewhere you can easily access and launch xdelta UI.
- Navigate to the "Apply Patch" tab. It will be at the top of the window.
- Next to the Patch section, click Open. This will open an explorer window. Navigate to your xdelta patch’s location, select it, then click open.
- Next to the Source File section, click Open. This will open an explorer window. Navigate to your game .iso file's location, select it, then click open.
- Next to the Output File section, click "…". This will open an explorer window. Navigate to the folder that you wish to save your patched game to.
- Under the "File name" section, enter your desired output file name, along with .iso.
- Leave "Save as type" blank and click Save.
- Click the patch button within the Xdelta UI window. It may take a few minutes for the patch to apply, but should display a "File patched successfully" message.
