The Sega Game Gear is an 8-bit handheld console from the fourth generation of video game consoles. The console launched in Japan on October 6th, 1990 followed by North America and Europe (April 1991). The Game Gear featured similar hardware to [[Master_System:Master System Mods Wiki|Master System]] bit sported 4096 colors in its palette versus the contemporary [[Genesis:Genesis Mods Wiki|Genesis]]'s 512 colors.
