The Sega Saturn is a 32-bit console from the fifth generation of video game consoles. The console was launched in Japan on November 22nd, 1994 followed by North America (May 11th, 1995) and Europe (July 8th, 1995). The console and controllers had a later model revision — dubbed the "Model 2" — as well as various different variants including the JVC-produced V-Saturn and Hitachi-produced Hi-Saturn Navi (which included car navigation, karaoke support, and LCD screen). Online play, web browsing, web chat, and email could be accessed through Sega NetLink via a 28.8k modem that plugs into the cartridge slot. Other devices, such as an external RAM cartridge or save memory cartridge could be used in the cartridge slot.
